Reiki in Sooke — what's offered
Sooke clients come to Core Healing for a range of reasons: chronic pain that hasn't responded to conventional treatment, anxiety and burnout, grief, sleep issues, post-surgery recovery, palliative support, or simply because the nervous system needs to slow down. Amanda offers six core services from her Sooke studio:
- Adult Reiki Session — 90 minutes, $100. The full Usui/Holy Fire® protocol with optional Akashic Record insight and somatic breathwork integration.
- Children Reiki Session — 60 minutes, $70. Tailored for kids navigating growing pains, anxiety, sleep difficulty or sensory regulation.
- Virtual Reiki Session — online, $70. Distance Reiki is equally effective for many clients; the same energetic principles apply across space.
- Pet Reiki — 30 minutes, $50. Calming support for dogs, cats and other companions during recovery, hospice, or behavioural distress.
- Mobile / Hospice Reiki — on location, $120. For palliative care, home visits in greater Sooke and the Westshore.
- Wellness Package — $450 for six 90-minute sessions (save over $100). The recommended path for clients addressing deeper patterns.
Why Reiki — backed by research
Reiki is a Japanese energy-healing modality first systemised by Mikao Usui in 1922. While the language of "life-force energy" is centuries old, contemporary research has begun to map what actually happens during a session.
About Amanda
Amanda's path to Reiki began with chronic pain following multiple motor vehicle accidents and a near-death experience during the birth of her daughter. Conventional holistic care offered short-term relief but never the cellular-level recovery she was seeking. Reiki training — Usui first, then Holy Fire® Master — changed that trajectory.
Today she combines Reiki with Akashic Record reading and conscious connected breathwork, holds private sessions out of her Brule Drive studio in Sooke, and hosts immersive group experiences at Owl's Perch — a three-cedar treehouse retreat that has welcomed guests from around the world for eight years.

Book NowFrequently asked — Sooke clients
Do I need to be referred by a doctor?
No. Reiki is a complementary practice and you can book directly. Many Sooke clients use it alongside care from local GPs, physiotherapists, and counsellors. According to the Cleveland Clinic's integrative medicine program, Reiki is considered safe to use alongside conventional medical treatment.[4]
How many sessions will I need?
For acute stress or a single concern, one to three sessions are often enough. For deeper patterns — chronic pain, grief, trauma — three to six sessions over a few weeks creates more durable change. The Wellness Package is structured around this rhythm.
What's the difference between in-person and virtual?
In-person sessions are held in a low-light, scent-conscious studio room. Virtual sessions follow the same energetic protocol; you'll be guided into a relaxed state in your own space. Many clients use a combination.
